My dad's MRI has been postponed!
So now it's on the 15th and the results will be out on 21st.
Kinda relieved, cos it was looking pretty unlikely for me to leave TW early! :P
Now I can be around when the results are out.
Thanks for praying, y'all. :)

dad matters
Dear all, please keep my family in prayers. :)
My dad's MRI is on Nov 12 and the results will be out Nov 14.
I'm away in Taiwan till Nov 15, but trying to see if I can come back a day earlier so I can be around the family for the results.
The frenly nurse says the vital MRI is after 2 more chemo treatments, but this one will help to show if his chemo is helping.
Praying that the report will show he's responding well to the treatment! :)
Thanks guys.
Will miss you all when I'm away!
Cheers,
Shar

Shar's prayer request
Okei, everyone, PRAY PRAY PRAY....
My favourite granny (okei, she's also my only granny now) needs to go for a colonscopy on Friday morning.
She's been having constipation of sorts for about 7-8 months, then suddenly she's having diarrhoea.
Doctor is worried that there may be a growth, or that her intestines are clogged up, so the recommendation to go for a scope.
Am praying that it'll all be clear and because she is already 77, that she will not go through much discomfort through the whole thing.
Thanks!
Cheers,
Shar

Being Happy On The Job :)
Happiness involves feeling good about yourself. It's based on your relationships and achievements. When your gifts and abilities are fully developed and utilised through your life's work, you grow in confidence and strength.
"The Lord will command the blessing on you in you storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you." (Deuteronomy 28:8)
Here are seven keys to being happy on the job:
(1) See work as God's gift, not punishment.
"When God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work - this is a gift of God" (Ecc 5:19 NIV).
(2) Recognise God as your true employer.
"Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does" (Eph 6:7-8 NIV).
(3) Pursue work compatible with your gifts.
"If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised" (1 Pet 4:11 NIV).
(4) Learn everything possible about your job.
"Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance" (Pro 1:5 NIV).
(5) Use criticism to your advantage. In fact, make it work for you; ask for suggestions and correction.
"Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction: but he who regards reproof will be honoured" (Pro 13:18).
(6) Do more than is expected of you.
"If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles" (Matt 5:41). Be an extra-miler!
(7) Make Jesus your work partner. Stay Christ-conscious throughout the day as you perform your duties faithfully.
"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You: because he trusts in You" (Isa 26:3).
This encouragement comes from 'The Word for Today' devotional available free from http://www.thewordfortoday.com.au/ This is extracted from 21st August 2007.

not problems we face but the VISION we see...
Zechariah 4 (New Living Translation)
6 Then he said to me, “This is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
7 Nothing, not even a mighty mountain, will stand in Zerubbabel’s way; it will become a level plain before him! And when Zerubbabel sets the final stone of the Temple in place, the people will shout: ‘May God bless it! May God bless it!’
Amen...

God of My Forever
Verse 1
God of my youth
I remember your call on my life took me o'er
Your luv has seen me through all my days
I stand here by your grace
On this altar I've written my life
Tells of a story I have with you my
Lord I want the world to know
Chorus
God of my forever
And forever I'm with you
My life is saved with a price
Your sacrifice redeemed my soul
God of my forever
And forever I will sing
My greatest honor will always be
To serve my Lord and King
Verse 2
God of my all I've surrendered
My heart finds its rest in your word
Praises will not be enough to show
How my Love for you has grown
Nothing matters when you're here with me
In the end just to hear you say "Well done"
Bowing before your throne
Bridge
Forever and ever
Jesus You alone in glory reign
Forever and ever
With You I walk this narrow way
God of my youth
I remember your call on my life took me o'er
Your luv has seen me through all my days
I stand here by your grace
On this altar I've written my life
Tells of a story I have with you my

Finally able to post here. Had a hard time creating this haha.
Last week was indeed an awesome and power packed weekend. I really did enjoyed my 2 services with AR Benard. Yup I do agree with whoever had post before me about spiritual discipline. I guess in whatever circumstances if we lose our basic, we will just go astray. Especially if you are one of those that are very easily influenced by the things of the world and the ppl out there. Times where I just felt stagnant and away from God, I really have to force myself into

Times where I just felt stagnant and away from God, I really have to force myself into
doing the basic again. It seems very easy right? Just pray, fast, read the word.... until you really
discipline your flesh to do it.
The other thing that I really like is the new worship song.... are we going to sing it for cgm? It's really one of those heart felt songs. The lyrics goes like this ... God of my youth I remember, Your call on my life took me o'vr, Your love have seen me through all my days, I stand here by Your grace... wow wow wow isn't it true? It just brought me back to the day of my salvation at world trade center ( I was 19 at that time), and it's really through the grace and love of God that brought me to where I'm today despite all the things that had gone wrong, all the mountain and valleys time. He had shown Himself faithful. Sometimes I really don't understand why do some ppl that had experience God's love, his miracles and yet still leave church. Just feel very very sad lor! As for me I have always make a decision that no matter wat I still want to be in the
presence of God. Once there is a friend of mine who told me this .. "To back slide is so difficult I
really don't know how? " Yes I totally agreed especially after all I have gone through wif my Jesus. My greatest honor in my life will always be to serve You my Lord and King.
Want to share this link with you guys hope you all will like it

07 July 2007 - Personal Growth
Hey guys... dunnoe if u guys remembered this email tat Sze Yong sent us... well... i decided to post it here so tat everyone could read it...
LET THE WISE LISTEN AND ADD TO THEIR LEARNING. (PROVERBS 1:5 NIV)
Here are three reasons why personal growth should matter to you:
(1) Talent without personal growth limits your future!
Albert Schweitzer said, 'The secret of success is to go through life as someone who never gets used up'. But how do you do that? The answer lies in how you approach talent. If you draw on your talent but never sharpen it, you won't get very far, because nobody's that talented. But when you take the time to sharpen your skills and develop your character, God can call on you at a moment's notice.
(2) Personal growth prevents stagnation.
Do you feel stuck spiritually, relationally, career-wise or at home? You won't get unstuck by making external changes: looking for a different job, leaving your marriage partner and family, or changing churches. The truth is, nobody's keeping you down but yourself. The lid on your life - is you! In order to accomplish more, you've got to grow more. So if you're serious about getting unstuck, stop looking for quick fixes, take a long hard look at yourself, accept responsibility for what you see, pray, then decide to do something about it.
(3) Personal growth guarantees success!
The Tartar tribes of central Asia used a particular curse against their enemies. They didn't call for their swords to rust or their people to die of disease. No, they said, 'May you stay in one place forever'. Wow! If you don't work every day on improving yourself, that will be your fate. You'll end up stuck in the same place, doing the same things, dreaming the same dreams but never getting anywhere!
Soulfood Bible Readings - Jer 33:1-36:26, Matt 24:36-51, Ps 122, Pr 15:10-14
LET THE WISE LISTEN AND ADD TO THEIR LEARNING. (PROVERBS 1:5 NIV)
Here are three reasons why personal growth should matter to you:
(1) Talent without personal growth limits your future!
Albert Schweitzer said, 'The secret of success is to go through life as someone who never gets used up'. But how do you do that? The answer lies in how you approach talent. If you draw on your talent but never sharpen it, you won't get very far, because nobody's that talented. But when you take the time to sharpen your skills and develop your character, God can call on you at a moment's notice.

i wanna be ANGSANA tree...
hee! *curtsey x2*
hoping more ppl can give curtsey too... hee!
anyway... if i get to choose the type of tree i wanna be the tree that bears ANGSANA.. it's actually known as the Burmese Rosewood... think everyone noes what's this fruit since primary school...coz it's the very first fruit that i learnt when i was trying to accomplish my botanist scientist badge... (if we were in the same era...haha!)
coming back to this... why ANGSANA... hmm...coz...
1) it's a valuable timber which is a hardwood, termite resistant and rose scented...
2) the flowers act as honey source, leaves infusion are used as shampoos and both of them can also be eaten..
3) the entire tree can also be used as an ornament or shade for people...
4) in folk medicine... this tree act as a combat for tumours...
5) the fruit may not be very big but it's enabled with 'wings' that can fly to different places to be planted and grow...
hee! now u noe why...

sud-sud tree
Wah....good one Fio!
I wanna be a GIANT SEQUOIA.
One of the oldest, strongest and stoutest trees in the world, even though they start from seeds the size of grains of wheat.
I saw these trees in person when I was in Lake Tahoe 16 years ago ... took 6 of us to wrap our arms around one tree trunk!
Interesting fact: They are also the fastest growing trees in the world.
Run a search on google and you'll see for yourself. :P
Wanna aim, might as well aim high huh? :)

W356
it's me again... (^_^)
last nite we were having prayer meeting during our cell group meeting... something came across... that is...
wat does W356 means...
then it came to me that... what does W stands for??? worry??? weak???? NO!!!
W to me stands for Warrior... and this Warrior is not just a Prayer Warrior that i put in our blog, not only a Soul Winning Warrior but a Warrior in All for God... we fight for Him and He with us whenever we need to fight against till the very end... and we need not worry for He is there always and we will never be weak for we do things through His strength and not on our own ability...
and that leads to 356...
356... Proverbs 3:5-6... Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understand; in all your ways ackowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths... (think this is Jialing's favourite verse and a verse that encourages all us)...
like what Sharon had said last nite... (Jeremiah 17:7-8)do not give up when the heat comes... do not give up or turn away from the problems, obstacles and difficulties... let's not be anxious, fear or shakened!! TRUST HIM!! Be rooted into Him!!! Irene saw a vision where there are many young trees (W356 Members) that are planted along the river but yet to be rooted... let's remember to stay by the river ... be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.. let the Holy Spirit guide you...
we will just be like a tree... planted in W356 by God... rooted to God's word... growing up to a strong and healthy tree and this healthy tree will be able to serve and fufil a great purpose and commission... giving shade, fruit and resources to all mankind and bringing glory to the one WHO planted us...
Amen...
